What does ENAIRE do?

ENAIRE is the main provider of air navigation and aeronautical information services in Spain. It provides communications, navigation and surveillance services throughout the Spanish airspace and in the airports of the Aena network, with implications in the following areas:

Air traffic services (control, information, warning and rescue and traffic flow management).
Operational safety (warning networks, on-board systems).
Dynamic airspace (sectorization and flexible compartmentalization).
Operations in high altitude airspace (sub-orbital flights).
Free routes and cross-border air traffic coordination (compatibility of procedures and technology).

Who can apply?

Students and future entrepreneurs who have not yet launched their idea can apply, but the program is open to anyone who is not an ENAIRE employee.

In the case of a natural person, they must be at least 18 years of age on the closing date of registration for the competition.

In the case of a legal person, it must be considered a microenterprise according to Regulation (EU) No. 651/2014 of the European Commission.

What is the purpose of the contest?

The purpose of this business ideas contest is to encourage the generation of ideas which, potentially, will crystallize in the creation of innovative companies in ENAIRE’s field of activity.

Ideas that take advantage of business opportunities in any sector of activity are welcome, as long as they focus on the provision of air traffic/air transport services.

Therefore, the business idea competition will be a success if it serves to expand the innovative ecosystem of air navigation.

Will I lose my company's intellectual property?

The participants of the contest will be responsible for their idea and will maintain at all times the intellectual or industrial property of their ideas presented.

For its part, ENAIRE, for its activities within the framework of the provision of Air Navigation Services, could decide to continue with the maturation in its development and subsequent exploitation of the winning idea of the second phase of the bidding.

However, if the winner of the tender decides not to undertake this task together with ENAIRE, after two years from the date of the winner’s announcement, ENAIRE shall have the right to do so by its own means.

What is the application deadline?

The deadline for registration is February 15th, 2025 at 23:59h CET (UTC+1), although the organization reserves the right to extend the deadline.

Participants must submit their applications using the form that includes the questions of the “Business Model Canvas” available on the contest website

What parameters will be taken into account in the evaluation?

The ideas submitted will be evaluated based on the information provided in the registration form, “Business Model Canvas”, according to the following criteria:

Degree of innovation, differentiation and originality of the idea presented.
Value generation.
Realism of the concept proposed in the environment where it is intended to be developed.
Validation of the proposed market.
Economic viability.
Growth potential.

Am I obliged to participate in the incubation activities?

Participants may choose to enter only the first phase of the competition to win one of the five prizes for the best idea (5,000 €, 3,000 €, 1,000 € and two of 500 €).

The representative of the idea that has created the most viable and interesting business model for CRIDA will be invited to develop a proof of concept, after the incubation phase.

The development of the proof of concept is associated with an economic endowment of 5,000 €. This idea can be any of the five selected in the previous phase.

The idea that moves forward with the development of the proof of concept, the best business plan will be eligible for an additional prize of 10,000 € , does need to participate in the incubation.

How long does the incubation last?

The incubation phase is a period of learning and development in which the 5 selected ideas will receive personalized support to improve and consolidate their business proposals.

During this stage, participants will have the opportunity to transform their initial ideas into complete business models, based on the Business Model Canvas tool.

The main objective of this phase is to help participants evolve from a value proposition and an initial definition of their customers to a comprehensive business model.

Incubation will take place between February and May 2026.

When will the winner be announced?

The Selection Committee will analyze all the proposals received and will verify that they meet the criteria for admission to the competition. A sufficient number of interviews will be held with the participants with the best ideas in order to facilitate the selection by the Jury.

The Jury will choose which 5 ideas will participate in the incubation program and receive cash prizes.

The award for the five best ideas will be announced in January 2026 and the award for the best business plan will be announced in June 2026.

How will I receive my award?

All prizes will be awarded by the UTE AD-SILO by bank transfer, on behalf of CRIDA, and their amounts will be subject to withholding, the responsibility of the representative of each winning idea.

The prizes may be declared void if the Jury so decides.
